Is may take about ONE MONTH, if you friends send VIA lucky Plaza cargo agent ! ( because is cheap ) . other than this , is about two week. of course by DHL / UPS is max 4 working days but i don't think so, because high cost.

Around Bencoolen Street or Jalan Besar, a few backpack hostels there. Location is near to Orchard Road within walking distance or a few bus-stops away only. Welcome and hope you enjoy your stay in Singapore.
