How long are you going to be there for? Are you looking for a hosue-share type lodging, a hostel, a cheap hotel or a really nice place that'll cost a lot? Do you have a budget per night?
I can recommend the Fullerton Hotel, but it's 5 star and very expensive. Ditto for Raffles.

You can arrange with your country's travel agent to make the hotel reservations or when you arrive in Singapore Changi airport's arrival hall, proceed to the Singapore Hotel Association counter where they can make hotel booking for you. Just let them know your budget.
Alternatively, check out this website to do you own booking: http://www.asiarooms.com. Please note that hotels nearer to the city and town areas normally command a higher price. Good luck.
