How much money will it cost you if you go to Singapore or Hongkong for at least 3 days?

My family and I planned to have our vacation in Singapore or Hongkong for three days. The thing is, we still don't have the idea how much it will cost assuming that you're five in the family. We still need to find a cheap but nice hotel to stay in considering the fact that we'll be many. Second the plane ticket from Philippines to Singapore or HK. Food and other expenses will be in the list too. Which is cheaper? Having a vacation in Singapore or Hongkong?

Actually, to tell you the truth I am planing to visit Singapore and Hong Kong with my family (my husband and parents) next month. I've been searching a lot about this trip because we usually travel a lot and we try to organize the best we can ahead of every trip. The results of my search concluded that Singapore is much cheaper.
Of course, it depends on the quality of the hotel that you will finally choose. For example a room in a 5 star hotel in Singapore is about 200$ less than a similar hotel in Hong Kong, and the cost of life is not so expensive either. For example, you have the opportunity to choose restaurants and recreation for all budgets. I've been in Singapore before and it is a great place to visit combining culture with modern life.
If you finally decide yo go, do not miss out the Sentosa island and the fountain show! Have a nice trip and enjoy yourselves!

Nice hotels in hK andsingapore wil have to be 5 stars haha.they are near shopping streets and if you are going to disneyland. It would well cost about 30SGD each for adults for children 18SGD. Thats the entry fee alone.Drinks and snacks would well cost all together hundreds or dollars if you are going to a good restuarant.Food in singapore n hk is absolutely amazing, all i can say is even how expensive do you thing it is. You will find it's all worth it.By my calculation a family of 5 would cost about 150 to 200SGD each day. If you are shopping for branded goods then 500SGD.

Single person in Spore or Hongkong for 3 days: from USD500 (very, very tight budget, cheapest hotel Spore dollar:50 single room)… to USD1,000 (watch how you spend); and very very little SHOPPING mind you! Frankly both destinations are really bad choices IF one has a tight budget.

i think the living standard in the two city are pretty much the same.

If you are going to go to all the touristy places, i guess it can rack up quite a substantial amount. But of cos if you choose to spend wisely, then i am sure u can make the best it.

it also depends on how many persons u are toking about.
u can go for low cost budget hotel. Hotel 81 (along bencoolen street, strand hotel also along that street) are 2 low cost hotel i can think of tat are right in the middle of town.) Food wise , u can try out the hawker center. which is what most singaporean go most of the time. although u have to bear with the heat and inconvenient. Food court are the upgraded hawker center, which is costlier for the aircon and nice "ambience" but the food are only good at best.

places to go – either zoo or night safari bird park. (esp if you have kids) , little india , if you wanna see more of the local culture. orchard shopping belt, bugis village( more for youngster) east coast for sea food( can be expensive) . or u can go there for roller blading . sentosa(touristy place) for the musical fountain etc

hongkong wise , staying on the kowlong or new territory will be cheaper if i am not wrong

public transport is as good unless u are traveling to the out skirt of the territory. shopping will be good in kowlong and hong kong island.
mongkok, time square jordan street etc
disney land (touristy place) or ocean park

so depending on who u are going with.

it would probably be cheaper if you travel from the Phils to Singapore :)

excluding airfare and hotel, a single person would likely about to spend about 200 USD for 4 days in Singapore :)
