im planning to go there with my sisters by the first quarter of 2008, is it the best time? what would we not miss?
Singapore best time is when every foreigner are not in Singapore ?Holidays , exposition /trade fair seasons like June , July , Depavali Holidays , Why the holidays ? every accommodation in Singapore is double price , or you could not finds one unless you have booked three months ago .
Best advise I could give you , check with the website of Singapore , or Singapore or tiger airways airlines website ? Because they will tell you which best time to visit , for the airlines mention , if they run a promo on January for March visit , it means those are the days when there is no trade or exposition happening , so hotels are cheap and not so much people in Singapore .

Probably now is the best time to visit Singapore, with the wonderful sales and beautiful Christmas decorations. First quarter of 2008, I would advise you not to visit during Chinese New Year as most shops would be closed, the streets would be quiet and it would be very boring unless you are visiting local relatives like the rest of us.

First quarter of 2008 would be a good time as the weather would not be too hot (like in Jun-Aug) or too wet (like in Nov-Dec). If you come just before the Chinese New Year, you would be able to watch the Chinese New Year decorations at Chinatown. However, if you stay on during the Chinese New Year, you would be bored like what the other person mentioned as most shops would be closed.

any time should be ok.. with the festivities and celebrations going around now all the way till Chinese New Year in Feb, Singapore streets will be bustling with lots of activities, people, promotions, lighted up streets etc… very interesting! but of cos its also the rainy season.. good for shopping, maybe not so good if u like the outdoors..

Basically, Singapore is suitable to visit throughtout the year. Of course during year end will have more rain, but the weather will be cooler.

i think the best time to visit Singapore is Dec as you can see the Christmas lights and decorations,but i guess any time would also be good time to visit Singapore, you can always check out 88db website for list of restaurants, cafes, hawker ctrs and clubs and pubs where you can get good food and great entertainment

Its good to come here anytime including now but it always rains quite a lot around this time and its pretty hot in the first quarter.

its the coolest month.. tho its still really hot.. hahaha.. but still.. its cooler… cos of the rain.. i really hate the rain but its cooling.. so yeah..
u'll miss the christmass lights all over singapore.. first quarter.. unless before feb or something.. but u might not miss chinese new yr festivals..
